Weston-super-Mare Museum
This friendly family museum caters for all ages. The displays range from the archaeology of the earliest inhabitants to the wildlife that you can find today. Other displays cover the local history of the area. The Seaside Holidays Gallery is a speciality of the museum, and the cottage next door is laid out as a landlady's lodging house of 1900.
Variety is assured by the all year round programme of free exhibitions in the Art Gallery, special events and the innovative "People's Collections" displays. There are children's activity sheets and competitions in the school holidays.
To round off a visit, you can refreshments form the Café in the palm-lined Courtyard, or choose a memento of your visit from the Shop. There is a specialist section of publications relating to the area.
All of the downstairs of the main building is accessible to wheelchairs and buggies. There are prize-winning toilets, baby-changing room and toilets for people with disabilities.
The museum is open Tuesday-Sunday all year round, from 10am to 5pm
Annual tickets are available which allow you to visit as many times as you like within a year.
